Feel Better Fall Guide!
It’s my favorite time of year … Fall!
Leaves are falling, fall festivals, warm drinks and over sized sweaters.
This is also the time of year that our lives overflow with more chaos than normal. Holiday events and parties consume our schedules, baking sweet treats, gift shopping and possibly, if you’re lucky a nice mini vacay!
All of this leaves us feeling overwhelmed, stressed and, in most cases, a few pounds heavier.
But this is your year to change that! I’ve gathered some of my favorite fall health and fitness tips to keep you on track and feeling lighter!
Enjoy a hot cup of tea. Instead of ordering that second cup of coffee, try tea. Green and chamomile teas are favorite this time of year! They are said to have immune boosting antioxidants. A glass a day may help keep those icky flu germs away.
Hot lemon water before bed. Party after party, goody after goody. If your body isn’t used to eating sweet treats, they can leave you feeling bloated and, eh, um … bound up. Drink a glass of hot water with a slice of lemon before bed. This will speed things up and keep you consistent!
Probiotic. Want to eliminate the possibility of a mid-night bathroom break? Try a probiotic instead of hot lemon water before bed.
Hydrate. And by this, I mean water. Not another cocktail. Increasing your water intake will not only keep your skin healthy and hydrated, but it will help boost your mood and energy levels as well.
Salt scrubs. Cold weather can be harsh on your skin. Dry, flakey, itchy? Before heading to the shower, melt ¼ cup of coconut oil. Add either sugar or salt and an essential oil. After soaping up, scrub your body with the mixture. Pat dry when you get out of the shower!
Farmers Market. Most are still going on in the fall. This is a great chance to snag some fresh, local produce while supporting your local farmer! Knowing and selecting the fuel that goes into your body is satisfying and mood boosting!
Get outside. Change in weather have everyone stuck inside? Here’s your excuse to get outside! Bundle up and talk a walk. 30 minutes of fresh air can completely change your day and boost your energy. Your little’s as well!
Soup. How do you go wrong with soup! It’s warm, cozy and filling! Check out my Mighty Mom Fit Facebook page for my Fit Veggie Soup!
Yoga. The days that overwhelmingly stressful and you just need a break. Hit up your local yoga studio and sign up for a class. Calming, helps reduce your stress levels and it’s an hour of quiet to yourself!
